Hackney Wick Studios approached The Studio to create a concept design for the HW building to maintain the influence of studio spaces and transform the area around Hackney Wick station.
STUDIO APPROACH
Studio Approach
We planned and analysed to create a concept design for the HW building, ensuring we preserved the influence of studio spaces within the area by creating a series of canvas spaces which intertwined into a folding envelope, whilst maintaining the rustic and historic warehouse atmosphere.
Our design utilised the LLDC masterplan extensively to create a thriving and affordable workspace that ensures the continued growth of the local creative economy of Hackney Wick.
