FRAMING OUR INFRASTRUCTURE | PART 02
The space for exhibition, interest and a message is utilised through Calling Bridging Home, London by South Korean artist Do Ho Suh, who built a replica of this childhood home and installed the piece on top of a pedestrian bridge spanning Wormwood Street, a dual carriageway located near Liverpool Street station.
The intricate, decorative structure juxtaposes the mass of high-rise glass facades that dominate the area.
Through this installation Do Ho Suh aims to make a statement about the migrant history of London, as well as to reflect his own experience of moving from one country to another.
The installation offers an icon in the landscape and opens up road users to experience.
