‘CONVERSATION PIECES’ BY STEPHEN WILLATS

Willats proposes here is a triune method of creating an artwork.

The artwork is a compound of three interrelated elements. It speaks of the process of design, how the product is not only and amalgamation of the components yet is created by the interrelationship between them.

Here the studio poses Artwork and Artist being directly replaced by Architecture and Architect.

This promotes work that is constantly in flux, reacting to context, audience and architect. This collaborative nature of practice can be celebrated to create dynamic responses to project briefs.

The studio believes in practicing ‘in conversation’ which similarly to Williats proposal sees a constant fusion of multiple dialogues.
